Smirti Mundhra is an upcoming producer and part of the film company Drops Entertainment. She talks to Kamla Bhatt about her early introduction to the film industry in Los Angeles, her father Dr. Jagmohan Mundhra and her work with various production companies.

Smriti started working right after graduating from high school, and within two years she had already gained valuable experience working in the production of Spike Jonze's Being John Malkovich, and Neil LaBute's Nurse Betty. When she turned 18years old Smriti landed her first project with Coen Brothers, and ended up working on the sets of two films: O Brother, Where Art Thou? and The Man Who Wasn't There.

A few years ago, Smriti and her friends founded Drops Entertainment. They have so far produced and released two films Bomb The System and Waterborne and have a third one CarBabes is ready for release.

Smriti won the 2005 Mira Nair award for a rising female filmmaker from the Harlem Film Institute. When she is not working on a film project, Smriti is pursuing a Masters degree at Columbia University.
